Metaphor of Life

Imagine yourself walking down the street
suddenly you realize that you are lost
you don't know how to go back to your house
you don't know where you are
It's getting dark and you're getting scared
what do you do now?
you need a place to sleep
you are probably hungry
you look around and you know nobody
except maybe this man standing by that tree
you've seen him before, maybe in a dream
you feel connected to him, as if you've known him all your life
you go up to him, you'd like to talk to him
see if he recognizes you
well, he doesn't, but he seems nice
you two are having an interesting conversation
he asks a lot of questions, and you don't mind
you ask him where you could spend the night
and he offers you his home
you decline
you don't want to rely on anybody
you know you left your home searching for independence
you're not going to fall into the hands of anybody else
you have to find your own home
the home you want, with the walls you've chosen, and the garden you've taken care of
you remember why you left, but you don't know where you are going
it's all dark around you
you are scared and confused
you can't go back to your parents house,
for you don't want to give up
for you don't know a way back
you have never been this alone
and you should know that
The journey to self discovery is a long and lonely one
but the sun at the end is so bright
you'll forget every tear shed
Do not give up on yourself
keep searching, keep learning
open your mind to new horizons
explore all the routs you find interesting
get out of your comfort zone
